Fall Outdoor Decorating as Easy as 123
How to transform your summer outdoor oasis into a
comfortable and cozy place for fall
Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and there are about 101 reasons why.
But no worries, I will not list all of them just a few you will love, I promise.
The leaves are turning colors, the weather becomes cooler, but yet still warm and enjoyable, the pumpkin spice lattes are back, my sweaters are out of the winter closet and the reason to start getting in to the mood of changing things for fall, is one of my favorites.
Every weekend during the fall months feels like a holiday, so why not get in that festive mode and bring some fabulousness in to your own backyard, balcony, deck or any outdoor space.
1. You love your summer outdoors, but it never looks the same during the Fall months.
Well, you are not alone. Most people get everything packed up and put away, right after the labor day.
But with a few of my of tips and a maintenance tricks you can enjoy your outdoors for at least another 2 to 3 months, depending on where you live.
This is my outdoor space during the summer months.
2. First things, first!
Let’s set the theme and the color scheme.
I decided to go with a beautiful mix of gold/orange/yellow and a little bit of hip black and white.
3. Create a plan, checklist on things you need to refresh, clean, and buy for your transformation.
In my case, I have the outdoor furniture and an outdoor rug, so I decided to get new pillows, new throws, new tray for the coffee table and of course all the fabulous fall flowers and cute pumpkins in to the space.
lesson learned!!!! When I took off my outdoor furniture covers i discovered a whole lot of mess, leaves and dirt underneath it. Not to mention my outdoor rug was covered with stains from the dirty leaves and all that rain. Power washing for two days, wasn’t fun. So, I added one more thing on my check list for next year: outdoor rug gets cleaned up and put away right after the Labor Day, because you will never have time or effort to clean this dirty monster after that.
Ok back to decorating. So after my rug was cleaned and finally dry, I was ready to decorate.
4. Pillows.
Have fun with it! Buy different sizes, colors and textures.
Find that one pillow that will make a statement, the focal point of your sofa, of your whole outdoor space.
5. Blankets and throws.
By adding colorful throws on your chairs, not only you are making them look brand new and stylish, but also giving your guest an opportunity to wrap themselves around them and feel warm and cosy. I always buy same color and textures for the chairs and a different one for the sofa to add a nice layered look.
So we added some fun pillows and throws, now what?
6. Bringing the outdoor in to your outdoor space:)
Now we are going to add greenery, flowers, pumpkins, apples what ever you want or love to make your space fun and speak the beautiful language of fall.
When adding flowers, try the create a centerpiece, where it’s going the be on a coffee table or next to your sofa, make it a beautiful centerpiece from flowers and fruits or vegetables.
7. Stay warm and stylish.
To enjoy your time outdoors later in to the day, prepare your space with lanterns, candles and possibly extra heating lamps or portable fire pit.
Don’t forget to take out your favorite sweater, that goes with your outdoor decor, so you can fit right in when taking pictures:)
8. Don’t forget the front door
Its very important to set the mood right from the start. Dress up your front door with a beautiful wreath and place low maintenance mums to add some color and fun to your beautiful home.

9. Create your signature drink or warm coffee to impress your guest.
Pumpkin spice latte is one of my favorite drinks for fall.
Now that your outdoor is ready you can enjoy this beautiful season with your friends and family at the comfort of your own home.
10. Have fun with it!
Call up some friends and have a blast.
Enjoy, take pictures and don’t forget to tag me on the face book or Instagram with
your fall outdoor make over.
Stay tuned on how to host and decorate for an outdoor dinner.
With love for style, Yelena:)
