I have a little confession to make… I’m sorta addicted to home decor trends. Not only to see what gorgeous items are available on the market, but also to see which ones offer for my clients. To stay current on all home decor trends, i attend several interior design, furniture, window treatments and architectural shows through out the year. You don’t have to follow all trends, but you certainly need to know them. My clients come to me for the latest innovations and products and it is my job to deliver all the hottest and the newest products on the market! Which is why I’m giving you the top design trends for 2017 in this post.
After attending a few of the latest home shows,
here are my predictions for the hottest trends in home decor for 2017!
Let’s take a peek at what 2017
1.Satin brass.
Brass finishes have been making a comeback in recent years.“It looks amazing against almost any color of the rainbow. I think we’ll continue to see rooms with satin brass for quite some time and also possibly mixed with other finishes for a more eclectic look.
Today I’m putting the focus on one of my all-time favorite pairings: white marble and brass. This is the stuff dream homes are made of. So classic and glamorous.
This trend will continue to dominate in 2017. “We’re going to see this trend in both kitchens and baths “It’s that combination of something very natural and clean, like white marble, and something industrial, hard, and a little bit glamorous with the brass.”
2. Natural Texture
Natural texture in general—cane, rattan, abaca. I as a designer, am very attracted to it… Case goods were even getting more texture by upholstering, by lacquering, putting texture behind glass You could do that with anything you could dream off We were seeing different techniques, including a lot of wire brushing, which helps wood grain pop more.
3.Indigo Rules
Everywhere I turned I saw indigo inspired accessories, rugs, accent tables, throws, fine art, and more. Each piece merged the timeless color with contemporary design, inspired by dyeing techniques from around the world, showcasing the range of the hue.
Whether you’re looking to accent your room or update your kitchen or office cabinets, navy blue will be the preferred alternative to black in 2017. A modern twist with a traditional feel, navy blue pairs well with practically any color scheme.
Dressing your home in shades of sky—from sapphire (another one of those glorious jewel tones) to teals and soft baby blues—has never been so fashionable.
Whether you want to express confidence and strength or calm down after a long day at work, there’s a blue tone perfect for your space. And when those tones are mixed together, it’s the ultimate in relaxationIndigo Rules!
4.Animal print
There is one design element that never goes out of style and fits into any décor. That one design element is animal print. Whether used on upholstery, windows, other textiles or accessories, animal print is timeless. Decorating with animal print takes a light hand, ensuring that the space is tasteful and not overwhelming.
Animal print can be integrated into any style of interior, be a bit modern, contemporary or traditional. The variety in scale makes mixing different styles of animal print into an interior easy. For example, a zebra print mixes well with cheetah or leopard due to the larger scale of the zebra pattern in comparison to the smaller scale prints.
5.Disappearing Acts
Though mysterious and at times elusive, transparency made a profound appearance at Fall Market. Crystal clear objects ranging from poster beds to occasional tables, performed disappearing acts like a crafty magician in a modern day magic show. Disappearing and reappearing pieces were crafted from materials such as acrylic, bubble glass, or lucite. Though deceptively beautiful, each piece donned a classic silhouette yet provided a mysterious way of giving visual weight to negative space
6.Geometrics
When it comes to adding visual interest to a room, there’s no easier way to make an impact than by adding a few geometric shapes. The great thing about this trend is that it can easily be incorporated into any style of design. Those who like an ultra-modern look should consider making a statement with a geometric pattern in the powder room, shapely furniture pieces or light fixtures. For or a more traditional look, simply incorporate a geometric pattern into the room using floor tiles or accent textiles.
7. Upholstered Case goods
I have seen upholstered case goods for quite some time now, but this year this trend will take a whole new meaning . From leather wrapped nightstands, to a beautifully upholstered consoles with nailhead trim is definitely a trend to watch.
8.Bright green
And last, but not least we will be seeing a lot of gorgeous shades of green in fashion and interior design in 2017. Named the 2017 Pantone Color Of The Year, “Greenery” is meant to represent refreshment and revitalization, according to Pantone green is “strong again.” From lime green to emerald, the hue works throughout the home—whether it’s as a wall color or a room-filling rug.

Beautiful post! I am loving all these trends. Animal print will always be a staple for me. It’s almost like neutrals. And I’m very partial to upholstered casegoods.
Love how you decorated the space of your bedroom!!!
thank you 🙂
