Wow, what a market!
For those of you that are following me for a while, you know that I attend HP market twice a year!
I feel that it’s my duty and obligation to my clients to bring them all the latest and most stylish products in furniture, accessories and home decor.
This year, HP market had a whole new meaning for me.
It was a big honor to be selected among two other NJ designers,
to be a style spotter for Design NJ magazine.
I took this assignment with absolute pleasure and cant wait to share all of it with you.
Since I love to work with many different styles,
i feel that HP market is the right place to be when it comes to all the new trends in color,
textiles, scale and technology that is forever changing!
Fall market is my personal favorite, because it is during that time, many manufacturers come out with new collections in furniture and experiment with new colors and textures that you can see throughout each showroom.
On that note, I can’t wait to share with you not only all the new design trends,
but also my favorite showrooms in each category.
Color
Bold colors made a huge statement this fall. From rich shades of blues and greens to
about 50 different shades of pink. I especially enjoyed seeing so many beautiful sofas in green and blue velvets.
Black and White
With crypton fabric being so popular these days, its was very refreshing to see upholstery pieces in light, almost white looking fabrics in every showroom. Paired with black and white pillows, rugs and accent chairs, it formed a new
“black and white” trend. I love how versatile this trend really is. It could look elegant and minimalistic or very casual and fun at the same time. Black and white art, tribal looking area rugs and ottomans were definitely the point of conversation this market.
TRIBAL TREND
It was very interesting to see the new tribal trend evolving within the black and white category.
It is much softer, more organic and casual “black and white” version.
I absolutely loved this trend and can not wait to incorporate it in my work .
FLORAL
I am obsessed with this look! It’s fun, bold and colorful!
If its done correctly, it could look so chic and playful.
PINK
Finally, my favorite color is making a debut in the interior design world.
I have never seen so many beautiful shades of pink in upholstery, art, wall coverings flooring, lighting and bedding.
It was like being a kid in the candy store….
BLUE
Blue was still going strong this market.
It just got a little softer, with more contemporary hues and warm undertones.
GREEN
This gorgeous color, known for its royal appeal was a big hit this fall.
When paired with white, brown or gold it creates a very luxurious look.
WHITE
Crisp, fresh and modern white color looked beautifully with both contemporary and traditional furniture.
BROWN
I loved seeing how this sophisticated and rich color was reintroduced this market.
TEXTILES
From casual and relaxed organic looms, to modern shagreen textures, to feathers and leather fringe….
you name it….it was there.
Organic looms

Metals
Attention to details, was really spectacular this season.
Marble.
Marble was everywhere. From lighting to case goods…
Furniture
Lately, i have been getting so many requests for a larger scale furniture (like extra deep sectionals and super large coffee tables) and its been a real challenge …..up until now. This market i was happy to see large scale furniture and many beautiful shapes, like curvy sofas in all scale and beautiful back details on the chairs.
Curves
Back details
With many open floor plan layouts that we see lately,
i feel that this particular trend is way overdue! I loved seeing all the beautiful back details .
Artsy pieces.
When furniture is an art, literally….
Thank you so much for following me on this journey. I would love to hear your thoughts on all new trends.
What was your favorite and which trend you would incorporate in your own home?
Thanks for sharing your inspiring pictures from market! Next best thing to being there.
Thank you Terri! I am glad you enjoyed it.
